Adventure, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
Before I had children, my idea of adventure was always something grand, similar to my Senior Trip after high school graduation, when I went on a road trip through Yosemite, Mammoth and Lake Tahoe with some friends. I’m still astonished my parents let me go on that trip. Seriously…I look like a baby!
Today, I see the adventure in smaller moments, too; like going on a hike with my kids, learning a new language or tasting a new cuisine.
Smaller, yet still thrilling, exhilarating and even brave.
In the great words of Audre Lorde, “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.”
Last week, I shared my thoughts on how we were meant to live BIGGER than the cycle of work, taking care of others and repeat.
This week, we’re actively making a plan to live out what I like to call SOUL STIRRING ADVENTURE.
Doing that “thing” that’s been sitting on your bucket list forever, but you haven’t done a damn thing about it because you’ve been telling yourself that you’ll get to them later when you have more time, energy, money… you know the drill.
