This has been a doozy of a week, right? There’s a lot of fear and overwhelm and anxiety and even some downright panic going around. There’s also grief over canceled plans, concerns about the future, anger over the decisions being made by our government (or lack there of), sadness about the ripple effects those decisions create…. It’s a lot. As many of us come to terms with social distancing and living a more physically isolated life, I want to remind us that these are the times when we need each other most. These are the times when we need to come together as a community to help each other through. And these are also the times when we need to dial into what we need personally to keep going so that we have the energy to be a light to those who need it. We’re at our best when we take care of each other. AND we can only give our best care when we take immaculate care of ourselves. Along with stocking up on food and medicine, I’ve also made sure to stock up on the things that bring me joy or make me feel at ease. For me, that means face masks, really good chocolate, watercolors, and a few new books. I’m also getting outside, planning more phone and zoom dates with loved ones, and tapping into how I can be helpful in my local community. Your list probably looks a little different, but do make sure you have a list of what you need to take care of yourself. Share it those around you. Ask for exactly what you need. Be kind to yourself, check in with yourself, reach out when you need it. Take good care, N- |
P.S. I will be postponing all in-person events until we have more information re: the pandemic BUT I’m hoping to plan some fun virtual events this Spring to make up for it. |
